Shop Local with My 2021 Holiday Gift Guide
My 2021 Gift Guide
Are you ready for the holidays? I'm really looking forward to this Christmas season when I can be in the same room with my relatives and hug them!
Last year was difficult for many of us, but my husband and I got creative and surprised our relatives within driving distance with "drive-by Christmas" as we exchanged greetings through closed doors and safe distances. I don't know who was happier at the end of the day, them or me! It really is the thought that counts.
Finding the perfect gifts for your friends and family can add unnecessary stress to such a fun time of year. So I thought I would help you out by putting together a gift guide for all the wonderful people in your life! So let’s spread some holiday cheer!
Home, Garden, and Special Accessories
For: Home Owners and Gardeners
Whether it's an accessory for the home or garden, Gretel's has plenty of both! They have a wide selection to choose from, but buy it when you see it because some items sell out quickly. Gretel’s also has unique and thoughtful personal accessories and cute, quality baby items. You can find them here.
Original Toys and Books
For: babies and children
If you are looking for fun and original toys and books, Bloom Kids Collection is the place to shop! This is also the place for unique, quality clothes for babies, toddlers, and children. Oh my gosh, the outfits are so adorable!
The best part of Bloom Kids Collection is that they give back to local organizations committed to ending childhood hunger, poverty, and illness. So every time you shop for your little one, you help other little ones in need. Learn more about this here.
One of a Kind Gifts
For: The person who appreciates fine craftmanship
For a truly unique gift that is decorative, functional, or wearable Artists' Own is a must see! A co-op owned by local artists, you can find everything from textiles, pottery, glass, metal and so much more here. Artwork displays change frequently, so this is a perfect place to shop all year 'round.
Special Dining Out Experiences
For: The Foodie
Everyone needs to eat, and I believe in eating well. There are SO many independently owned restaurants in the Lafayette area, it’s sometimes difficult to decide where to eat! Consider a gift card to a place you know your foodie would like to try or would like to return. Take a peek at the options here.
Sweets and Treats
For: The Foodie
McCord's candy canes are out of this world! They've been making them in their kitchen every holiday season since 1912. These candy canes make a great stocking stuffer or package topper. Need something more than candy? Check out Richelle in a Handbasket for a customized gift basket filled with snacks and Indiana products. Give Richelle a call and she will customize a gift basket for you.
Memberships & Unique Experiences
For: Animal, Music, and Theater Lovers
Are you looking to give something that will last all year? The Columbian Park Zoo has family and individual memberships packed with perks. For a different experience, consider a gift card from Purdue Convocations or a season pass from Lafayette Civic Theater, and your music and theater fan can choose which shows to attend.
Did you notice the shop local theme? As a small business owner, I understand the importance of supporting local businesses. If you don't live in the Tippecanoe County, Indiana area, shop local where you live!
Still not sure what to give? Spending time with your loved ones is sometimes the best gift of all. Merry Christmas!
Until next time,
Laura
