Reflecting on 2024 & a Sneak Preview of What's to Come in 2025

This is the back view of our addition. Still a few minor things to complete, but we are enjoying the new space!

2024 was so busy personally and professionally and, I have to admit, a little stressful. I'm glad to be turning the page and leaving last year in the past! Today, I'm going to share with you a brief recap along with my goals for 2025.

2024 Highlights

Looking back, I can see that 2024 was one of my busiest years ever; many projects were from repeat clients or referrals. Thank you! I am very grateful for your trust in me. Another highlight was that our house renovation/addition was completed in time for our family to arrive at Christmas. Everyone enjoyed the "new" space. And, maybe most exciting of all: my husband announced his retirement for 2025!

This Barca Lounger was a challenge to reupholster! It really pushed me to my limits, but the client was pleased with it as was I.

2024 Challenges

Although I was very pleased to be busy, at times it was a struggle to keep up with the workflow. This was due to an influx of calls in addition to commuting to work during house construction. Lots to get used to! I have always found it easier to plan into the future than to organize today or tomorrow–something to work on.

This was the Barca Lounger in its original state from 1978. Quality furniture, but very outdated.

My Goals for 2025

Several tweaks and changes in 2025 will help increase efficiency and workflow for me. Every January, I take a couple of weeks to deep clean and organize new equipment and products as well as discard obsolete items. At the same time, I can reorganize the "problem areas" that disrupt efficiency.

I am working on adding scheduling options on my website so that clients can book appointments when it is convenient for both of us. Lastly, my husband and I are already thinking of ways he can assist me to make 2025 even better for Sew Nice and my clients!

Another challenging, yet rewarding job. Bay windows with pattern matched stationary panels and cordless inside mounted Roman shades. Designed by Lafayette Custom Interiors.
